Amanda Feldman is an associate at ReeseLaw, PC, practicing exclusively family law. With her unwavering commitment to her clients, Amanda skillfully navigates the complexities of family law matters, including prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, marital settlement agreements, separation and divorce proceedings, adoption, child custody disputes, and child support cases. Amanda's academic achievements reflect her commitment to excellence. Amanda is a graduate of American Universitys Washington College of Law, cum laude, where she earned the prestigious Mussey Prize for achieving the highest academic average in her third year of law school. She received her BA, cum laude, from The George Washington University in Washington, DC, achieving honors in Political Science, International Affairs, and Women's Studies. Amanda's dedication to advocacy and her accomplishments were further recognized when she was awarded the Undergraduate Award for Scholastic Achievement.

Prior to joining ReeseLaw, she honed her legal skills as an associate at another domestic relations firm in Fairfax, Virginia.  Her professional growth was further developed through diverse internships and clerkships, including serving as a legal intern to Magistrate Judges Trafford and Wiedmann at the DC Superior Court, and as a legal intern to the Honorable Michael A. Hammer, USMJ, at the District Court for the District of New Jersey, Newark. Amanda's dedication to justice led her to invaluable experiences at the Women and Law Clinic, and the Human Rights Violators Law Division of the Department of Homeland Security.

Amanda is licensed to practice law in both Virginia and the District of Columbia. Amanda is fluent in English and Russian. In her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, and exercising.

What if you have met with the other party?

Then it is highly unlikely we can meet with you.

What are the client's responsibilities to the attorney?

Primarily they are to cooperate. If information or documents are needed from the client, the client must provide them. You may choose not to follow the advice of counsel, but as long as we are your counsel, we can not support actions or behaviors that impair the case. Deadlines with the court or those dictated by the Rules of the Supreme Court of Virginia, for example, must be met.

What are the attorney's responsibilities to the client?

Primarily to speak for you and look out for your best interests and the best interests of the case. This means that we will communicate with the opposing counsel, any third parties such as guardians ad litem, experts and the court on your behalf. Another key responsibility is to educate the client as noted above.
